Ancelina Miron. Kitchen. March 17th , 2018.
Sadly, one of my client's kitchens looked the same as it did ten years ago when her and her husband bought the house. Everything was outdated, including the paint on the walls, and to be honest, she actually hate inviting her friends over to visit. She told me that she would really love to be able to renovate her kitchen, but since her full-time job has become a part-time job, money is an issue for her. What she really needed were some great kitchen design ideas that are to put it bluntly, not inexpensive but cheap, cheap, cheap! After breezing through a few magazines and watching the Home Improvement channel, she had uncovered a collection of easy on the pocket, kitchen design ideas that even Jack Benny would love.
The first of my kitchen design ideas is to work on the color scheme of your kitchen. If you are fortunate enough to have real wood cabinets, strip the finish off them and redo it with a lightly tinted stain. If your cabinets are not wood, you can go ahead and paint them in any color you wish. Paint the walls as well, in a color that best highlights the cabinets.
The three kitchen design ideas listed above will cost you very little to execute, and there are many other low-cost ideas out there. You just need to blend your ideas with your budget. Believe it or not, the look of a hundred thousand dollar kitchen makeover can more than likely be achieved with ten thousand dollars. If you use creative, kitchen design ideas, anything is possible. Trust me; your friends will never believe how much you spent. Forget that - make them suffer and never reveal your secret kitchen design ideas.
Another of my budget kitchen design ideas is to grow a window box of fresh herbs. You could also go for an arrangement of dried flowers in a corner. If you cannot do that, fill a small wicker basket with fresh fruit and place it on a counter to brighten up your kitchen.
Kitchen tables can be placed in a small kitchen. If there is an island in the kitchen, you are already saving space. However, if you want a place in the kitchen to be able to sit down for meals you can nestle a table against the island. This will leave more floor space around the work space and the table altogether. Additionally, you can conform your island into a peninsula by adding it to the end of your sink counter space.
