There are occasions when inspiration and a challenge to one’s spiritually come along surprising paths, and that is what I experienced a hardly any days ago. I was hearing in my heart about passion for Jesus Christ, leading on to passion for the poor which in turn should inspire a fresh depth of passion for prayer. What does it mean to have a passion for Jesus and how can we have a fresh passion for Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and keep our passion fresh and relevant? We see a passion for Jesus in the lives of the apostles. They are very absolute human beings, like any one of us, and then they are changed and transformed and conquered by Christ and they are able to conquer these weaknesses and faults.
